At Atmire we are happy to announce that the Vehicle Registration History Center (VRHC) has become our most recent DSpace Express client. The Institutional Repository aims to increase visibility and preservation efforts of the VRHC’s outputs, and ultimately to “advance knowledge of vehicle registration history”.

Starting at the beginning of 2024, due to the initiative of a small group of long-time license plate collectors, the VRHC is devoted to the long-term research and documentation of aspects regarding state laws and local regulations around the use and official marking of vehicles within the United States and Canada. Their mission is to advance the knowledge of more than 125 years of vehicle registration history through the preservation, interpretation, information-sharing, and publication of artifacts.

Why DSpace Express?

DSpace Express is designed and thought of as the perfect package to cater to the needs of growing organizations such as the VRHC. It focuses on cost-effectiveness and scalability by avoiding the need for an in-house technical team on the client’s side while providing the outreach and preservation capabilities of the world’s most widely used open-source repository software: DSpace.
